Mike Mrowicki - A New Voice For A Change for State Representative-Westminster, Putney, Dummerston-Windham 5
I'm running for State Representative of Westminster, Putney and Dummerston because I believe we need a fresh voice in Montpelier who�s better connected to all the people of this district. I got into this race seeing how the most vulnerable of our neighbors- the elderly, young families, single parent families, are being hit hardest by the Bush-Douglas policies. I feel we can do more- and better- than the status quo. And, I'm running as a Democrat because I believe the Democratic party is the best help for today and the best hope for the future.
As I campaign in this district , I'm talking to the folks I've connected with over the past 25 years "the hundreds of families whose kids I've coached, who I've sat on committees with, worked with to raise funds and build community with the proceeds. And, what I'm hearing primarily is a lot of folks feeling ignored. I'm hearing folks are feeling the middle class is becoming an endangered species, how working folks are paying more and more, and getting less and less for their health care dollars, and that Catamount Health ignores them, and how property taxes are hard to understand - and understandable explanations aren't forthcoming. Most of all ,I'm hearing that folks want representation that's available and accessible to them- on more than one issue. I'm hearing the seeds of change, and I'm ready to answer that call.
For the past 25 years, as I've raised a family here, I've also been serving the community in various volunteer and paid positions. So, while I may be new to politics, I'm not new to public service. I have a record of working well with others, building friendships and working alliances-and most important, getting things done. That's why I'm running and that's why I'm running as a Democrat,to provide the best help for today and the best hope for the future !
