Keith Clark has been serving the citizens of Windham County and the State of Vermont as a law enforcement officer for 15 years. He served as a patrol officer in Dover, a Vermont State Trooper in Rockingham, and as a sergeant in the Bellows Falls Police Department. Since 2003, Keith has lead the Bellows Falls Police Department as the Chief of Police.

The Windham County Sheriff's Department is in need of a proven leader. The Sheriff's Department needs a leader that can provide direction, rebuild the damaged reputation and increase the Department's responsiveness to the citizens of Windham County. Chief Clark's training, eduction, experience, and reputation are exactly what the Sheriff's Department needs and the Citizens want. As Sheriff, Keith will bring the Windham County Sheriff's Department to the forefront of law enforcement, while serving the citizens of the county with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

BIOGRAPHY

Who he is:

Husband: Married over 22 years to Bonnie
Father: Daughters are Raquel, who will be attending American International College this fall to study criminal justice and psychology and Candice who will be returning to Brattleboro Union High School this fall as a junior.

His law enforcement experience:

1991-1996 Patrol Officer - Dover, VT
1996-1997 Vermont State Trooper - Rockingham, VT
1997-2000 Patrol Officer - Dover, VT
2000-2003 Sergeant (Second-in-command) - Bellows Falls, VT
2003-Present Chief of Police

His military experience:

1983-1990 - Active Duty Air Force - Various locations around the world.
1990-1993- Vermont Air National Guard - Served as a security policeman at Burlington International Airport
2002-Present - Commissioned officer in the Vermont Army National Guard - currently serving as a company commander

His education:

Bachelor's degree from Norwich University
Currently completing Master's Justice of Administration through Norwich University. He will complete the academic portion of the degree in February 2007 and will receive his degree after presenting his capstone project at Norwich in June, 2007.

He has:

Demonstrated leadership ability as Chief of Police of the Bellows Falls Police Department.
Developed, as Chief, a highly regarded, innovative social liaison program, resulting in more people gaining access to social service and mental health programs, while at the same time reducing crime and improving community relations.

He is:

Familiar with private, state, and federal grant programs and processes.
The county wide coordinator for the Windham County Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT).
An instructor: Vermont Police Academy, teaching various disciplines to include: interacting with person with mental illness, report writing, and DUI detection and enforcement. He also has served as an instructor in the Vermont Army National Guard teaching basic leadership skills at the Regional Training Institute.

SCUBA diving, woodworking, snowboarding, and riding his motorcycle.
