WE HAVE A HEADQUARTERS!!!
Volunteers needed starting Sunday, Oct.1st. at 9 a.m.
71 Elliot Street in Brattleboro between India Palace and Lawton's [Dry Cleaning].

Are you one of the 60 volunteers who helped keep the Democratic Headquarters space at River Garden open and vibrant throughout the 2004 fall campaign season? Read on, here's your chance to help again this year!
Have you been wondering when/where the Democrats will open a downtown HQ for this campaign? Here's the answer!
Today, Lynn Bedell (Windham Co Democratic Committee Chair) sent this welcome message:
"The WCDC is happy to announce that we're opening a campaign headquarters to gear up for the final stages of the campaign. It's a store front on Elliot Street in Brattleboro between India Palace and Lawton's [Dry Cleaning]. Diane [Tayeby] and I will be cleaning it up and getting it into shape tomorrow [Sunday] morning.
"If you're free and would like to lend a hand, please join us at 9:00 am. If you have any items to lend (chairs, tables, computers, etc.) that you think would be useful, bring them along. Also, we'll be looking for volunteers to man the office, if that's something you'd be interested in doing, please let me know. Thanks for your help-- things are looking good on all fronts. Let's get the end-race organized so that we'll all be smiling on November 7."

Lynn Bedell & Diane Tayeby will be coordinating all HQ activities. If you want to volunteer contact Lynn or Diane

Please let her know if you can help with any of the following:

1. Come around Sunday am to help clean and organize the new HQ space.
2. Loan WCDC furniture, computers, or anything else that will help make this HQ functional and presentable to the public.
3. Volunteer time to spend at HQ, between now and Nov 7, greeting the public, making phone calls, addressing mailings, and doing whatever else the campaign needs at the moment.
And if you ARE one of those 60 volunteers who helped staff the River Garden HQ in 2004, we especially want to hear from you! Your experience will be most valuable. What days and hours might you be available to spend at HQ over the next five weeks??
If you haven't done this before, be assured that it is a rewarding experience to be able to help voters who walk in seeking information about our candidates, or who simply want to talk with someone about the issues.
DON'T WAIT--- VOLUNTEER TODAY!

BELLOWS FALLS HAS A HEADQUARTERS TOO!!!
Bellows Falls' HQ is located right next door to Vermont Pretzel in the Square (downtown)

Yes, it's true. For the first time in decades, people in the northern part of Windham County will be able to get signs, bumper stickers, literature and more without having to travel too far.
Of course we fully support our main HQ in Brattleboro which is also getting up an running but now we've got a one-two punch in Windham County to help out our candidates.
We are in the process of getting materials, staffers, donations, furniture, etc. and hope to be open part-time this weekend and fully staffed by Monday, Oct. 9th with the official opening sometime that week. Are you someone that always wanted to help out somehow but travel prevented you from doing so? Want to learn more about the candidates and probably meet a few? A little volunteering goes a long way in helping make us glad or sad come Nov. 7th.
Please come down and check us out. Sign up sheets will be available for a variety of volunteer events.

Reed Webster and Lamont Barnett will be coordinating all HQ activities. If you want to volunteer, please contact Reed or Monte

Phone Bank for Matt Dunne, Candidate for Lt. Governor
Every Tuesday, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
Putney Student Travel, Hickory Ridge Rd. South, Putney

A letter from Eli Balslay, Field Coordinator for Matt Dunne

Hi Windham County Friends,
I will be running phonebanks for Matt Dunne for the next three Tuesdays in Putney.  Thanks to those who came out last week and are already scheduled to come in and help for future phonebanks.  The phonebank will be at Putney Student Travel on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 ñ 9:00 (through the 24th).  Shifts are generally 5-7 and 7-9 but I can be somewhat flexible on this.
I still have plenty of slots available and I very much encourage anyone who can, to come and give a few hours of their time.  It is important that we get Matt's name out there to voters across the state who may not have heard or know much about him.  It's important these voters know that they have a very viable option in the Lt. Governor's race and someone who will be much better than Brian Dubie.  Matt will actually work!  I am posting directions to Putney Student Travel below.  Please call me to let me know when you might come or if you have any questions.
Also, think of any friends or acquaintances you have who may be undecideds, independents, or even Republicans.  Encourage them to vote for Dunne.  If they don't know much about him, tell him they should take another look and that Matt will really turn the office into an office of action, he will work towards issues important to us and you can always refer them to the website.  There are plenty of reasons to vote for Dunne over Dubie.  I would be happy to assist anyone who wishes to write a letter to the editor with topic points.  Let me know and I will work with you on this.
29 Days Left.  Letís make it count!
Sincerely,
Eli Balsley
Field Organizer
Matt Dunne for Lt. Governor

Directions:
Take I-91 to Exit 4
Take Route 5 North to the center of Putney, and turn left at the General Store onto Westminster West Road.
Go past the central school, turn left on Hickory Ridge Rd S, which is the road after West Hill.
Once you pass Putney Grammer School, the road will fork into a paved and a dirt road. Keep going straight, on the dirt road.
About two miles down the dirt road, on your left, will be Putney Student Travel. It used to be a barn. The entrance to parking is on your right.
